For writers
Joining The Grid.
Straight answers before you apply.
What is The Grid?+
A curated network of independent ghostwriters. GhostNode PR contracts with clients, matches briefs to the right node, and keeps editorial oversight. No public bidding.
How do I apply?+
Create an account, build your node (pen name, specialties, formats, a short bio) and add up to five writing samples. Then submit for review.
How long does review take?+
Usually 24–48 hours. Nothing goes public until it's approved, and later edits to your profile or samples are re-reviewed before going live.
Can I stay anonymous?+
Yes. You appear under a pen name and node number (e.g. #GN-07). Showing your real name is optional.
Who sees my rate?+
Only you and GhostNode. Clients see "Quoted on brief". Rates stay off the public directory entirely.
How do I get work?+
Clients brief GhostNode directly or through The Grid. We match on expertise and availability, then offer you the assignment. You can accept or decline.
Can I pause new work?+
Yes. Flip yourself between Available and Engaged from your portal at any time. No review needed.
Am I an employee?+
No. You work as an independent, self-employed contractor on separate assignments, wherever in the world you're based. You're responsible for your own tax and social contributions with your local tax authority (HMRC in the UK), and for VAT where registered. UK law (England and Wales) applies. See the Terms for details.
What about confidentiality?+
Every engagement is covered by a mutual NDA that also binds assigned writers. Client material must never go into public AI tools.
Can I use AI to write?+
Not for drafting client work. GhostNode is human by design, and every piece is edited by a person before delivery.
What samples work best?+
Your strongest 3–5 pieces in the formats you want to be hired for. They must be your original work or bylined pieces you have the rights to share. Never post work ghostwritten for clients.
